These Rules determine the framework for the Club Calendar. Dates are used that are declared public holidays and are predictable more than 24 months in advance. From time to time The Victorian Government declares special holidays (including the AFL Grand final Friday which depends on football fixtures). These are not included. |

Season 1. The Club sailing season is from 1/9 to 31/8. General Sailing 1. General Sailing is scheduled for every Saturday and Sunday between the 1st of September to the 30th of April inclusive. 2. General Sailng is scheduled for every 2nd Sunday between and including the 1st of May and the 31st of August inclusive. (Mothers Day, the second Sunday in May, is automatically avoided). Racing 1. Races are Scheduled for every Saturday between the 1st of September to the 30th of April inclusive. 2. Races are Scheduled for every 2nd Sunday between and including the 1st of May and the 31st of August inclusive. (Mothers Day, the second Sunday in May, is automatically avoided). 3. The Easter Cup is on the Saturday of the Easter Weekend. 4. The Labour Cup is on the Saturday of the Labour Weekend (2nd Monday in March). 5. The Commodore's Cup is on the second Saturday of October. 6. The Melbourne Cup Club Race is on the Saturday of the Melbourne Cup Holiday Weekend viz. the first week in November. 7. The Stern Chaser is the 4th Saturday in November. 7. The Parks Victoria Trophy is the 1st Saturday in December. 9. The Marathon is the second Saturday in February. 10. The Spring Series commences on the 1st Saturday of September 11. The Summer Series commences on the 2nd Saturday of December 12. The Autumn Series commences on the 1st Saturday of March 13. The Winter Series commences on the 1st Sunday of May 14. Series races are run sequentially unless there is an intervening special race in which case the numbering sequence resumes the following week. 15. Races are not postponed, only either run or abandoned. 16. The Campionship series includes the Spring and Autumn Series races and the first and last two races of the Summer series. Sailability 1. Sailability is on Wednesdays by appointment. Fleet 101 1. Fleet 101 is on Saturdays and active from the first Saturday in November to the second week of December inclusive and from the 1st week of February to the 4th week of March inclusive but excluding the Marathon day which is the 2nd week of Feb. Public Holidays 1. The Club is not open on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, or Good Friday but is for general sailing on long weekend Labour and Easter, Mondays and Melb cup Tuesday and Australia day. We are not open on Anzac day unless it falls on a Weekend. The Queens birthday is in winter and is not a sailing day. Meetings 1. The Executive Committee meets on the 2nd Monday of each Month unless it falls on a major public holiday such as Easter Monday. 2. The Sailing Committee meets on the 1st Monday of each Month unless it falls on a major public holiday. 3. The Social Presentation night is on the 2nd Friday in October (starting from the 2018 cal year). 4. The AGM is, generally, the Fourth Monday in July. Christmas Period 1. No Racing between Xmas Day and New Year inclusive. 2. No General Sailing between Xmas Eve and New Year inclusive. 3.If Xmas day falls in the 5th week in Dec then the Christmas Cup is the 4th sat else the 3rd sat. |
