Sugarloaf Relative Speedometer |
|
The Relative Speedometer responds to your performance each race and builds on past performance. It measures your speed relative to all other boats across all classes in the Championship Series. If you have had a particularly good race, you can expect to see the speedometer shift up the scale around 5%.
If the speedometer, for example, reads 60%, you can consider yourself to be in the fastest 40% of Sugarloaf sailors. The calcualtions use the club handicap system by calculating the ratio of the difference between club handicap and class yardstick to class yardstick for each sailor that has sailed more than 5 races in the Championship Series. These ratios are then expressed as percentages on a scale that adapts such that the ratios are evenly spread over 3 ranges. Bronze, Silver and Gold. |
